Big Cliffs, Small Falls….plein air weekend

I’ve been in the studio too long and made a break for the outdoors this weekend. My son Kyle was with me filming the madness for some potential youtube shorts etc. We had a good time roaming my favorite haunts around mid island. Saturday was a little stormy but dramatic. It is the best time of year for plein air in my opinion because you’re the only idiot out there so you are left to the task. There’s a spooky power in the land in the dead of winter.  The landscape bones shine and the sky frames what little light there is. It always promotes a simple but strong compositions.
